The white shoes have been popular for over two years since repopularised "Stan Smith". However, it's often that we pump into people wearing same white shoes when it's extremely awkward..... Let's have a look at white shoes that stands out but seen rarely seen. 1. Shanghai Warrior Shoes One interesting story is that Warrior Shoes is just the by-product if its parental company, a rubber manufacturer in China. More interesting is that it's actually far more popular overseas than it is in China. The red logo one is my favourite.  Shanghai Warrior Shoes: cheap and rarely seen. 2. Converse one star I was so into one star 3 strap until one day that I am unable to fit in. But still, Converse one star is my one of my favourites when it's so common to see all star in school and on the streets. Leather Converse one star is even better. 3.Timberland boots We've seen too many brown Timberland boots, so it's time to change a new colour. This wh

Chongqing hot pot, not Sichuan hot pot

My best friend is from Chongqing and she is so sick of hearing others talking about Sichuan hot pot. When talking about spicy and hot,  it seems that Sichuan is the first word to come up with. However, "Chongqinger" is the real lover of spicy hot pot. I went to main district of Chongqing for five to six times and the number of hot pot restaurants impressed me. Basically, in some areas, you can come across a hot pot restaurant every 20 meters and I guarantee you that every restaurant  is spicy and good.  In China, different regions, in fact, develop different styles of hot pots in terms of stew base and the staff put in hotpot. Other hot pots will be talked later, and nowadays, in China, Chongqing hot pot maybe the most popular one.  The first question would be "what is Chongqing hotpot". The question should be what is Chongqing traditional hotpot(重庆老火锅).  The soup base contains a variety of spices, herbs and several kinds of peppers, sichuan pepper in parti

China version Apps and websites-part 1

As some may know, Chinese government implements very  Internet censorship. As a matter of fact, websites like Facebook and twitter are not allowed to log in and this actually stimulate China's version of those famous apps and websites. Let's have a look at several most well-known ones. 1. WEIBO(微博)-TWITTER Weibo is one of the most popular social media in China. Like twitter, it is a place to share personal opinion but restricted within 140 characteristics.  Weibo actually witnessed a lot of famous “events" like "see you in Monday" of Chinese entertainment industry. Now twitter is suffering from decline users and revenue, but Weibo seems doing well in China. 2. Youku (优酷)-- YOUTUBE Like youtube, Youku is a platform to share videos. However, Youku is more like a warehouse to store videos. By now, it produces self-made TV shows and series like Netflix, but hasn't found a way to foster its own "youkuer". It actually faces fierce comp

What is authentic Chinese hot and sour soup dumpling(suantang shuijiao)

Today I went to dumpling house for lunch with my friend. I ordered a beef noodle soup and she had a Chinese hot and sour dumpling soup. However,  we were totally surprised by the dumpling soup when it came. It was basically adding dumplings to American version hot spicy and sour soup. Speaking of hot spicy and sour soup, it was barely mentioned in articles on  "Chinese Dishes That Real Chinese People Don't Eat", but I have to say the overseas version is really different with the authentic Chinese version. Nevertheless, this is not today's topic. Before talking about  authentic Chinese hot and sour dumpling soup(suantang shuijiao), let's have a look at comparison of two dishes. Authentic Chinese hot and sour soup dumpling (suantang shuijiao) The version in dumpling house As a matter of fact,  Chinese hot and sour soup dumpling is popular in Xi'an, capital city of Shanxi Province, China.
